Morgan predicts bright future for T20 side

Eoin Morgan says the Twenty20 International series whitewash over Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates is just the start of an exciting period for his emerging squad.

Morgan’s young troops continued their rapid development in the sprint format by following up victories over New Zealand and Australia during the English summer with three consecutive triumphs in the Middle East to move up to fourth in the ICC rankings.

Yorker plan kept Jordan calm

Chris Jordan modestly attributed his stunning Super Over to a “clear plan” as England completed a 3-0 Twenty20 International series whitewash over Pakistan in the most dramatic of circumstances.

After Pakistan forced a tie by scrambling a final-ball bye, Jordan was tasked with delivering the first ever Super Over by an England player.

And after conceding just three runs from it, few that follow him will do a better job.

Vince enjoying England chance

Top-order batsman James Vince is relishing his opportunity to shine on the international stage with England.

The Hampshire skipper, a prolific run-scorer in domestic Twenty20 cricket, was handed his long-awaited format debut on the current tour of the United Arab Emirates after being an unused member of the squad during the summer.

Vince, who made his England bow in the rained off one-day international in Ireland last May, said: “I was included in the squad last summer, but didn’t get the chance to play.
