Bresnan to join Hurricanes

England and Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan has agreed a deal with Hobart Hurricanes for the latter part of the Big Bash League.

The 29-year-old, who has not before featured in an overseas club competition, is set to play alongside England and Nottinghamshire batsman Alex Hales for the Hurricanes.

Bresnan is due to join up with Hobart in late December, replacing West Indies all-rounder Darren Sammy who must leave to take part in a pre-World Cup training camp with the Windies.

Tim Bresnan will swap the purple of Yorkshire Vikings' NatWest T20 Blast kit for Hobart Hurricanes' purple outfit in the Big Bash League

The Yorkshireman is set to make his first Big Bash appearance at home to Melbourne Renegades on January 7, midway through the tournament.

“The KFC T20 Big Bash League is a great competition,” Bresnan said.

“I have been lucky enough to watch it over the last three of four years and I think it is great, they put on a proper show and I can’t wait to get a taste of it.”
