EPP winter training schedule confirmed

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed the arrangements for the England Performance Programme (EPP) winter training camps.

The 12 players selected for the EPP batting and spin camp in Colombo will depart on Friday, November 21 and remain in Sri Lanka until Tuesday December 9.

In addition to developing their skills in sub-continent conditions, the EPP players will offer support to the senior England team for their seven-match one-day international series against Sri Lanka, and will also play two one-day matches against local opposition on November 30 and December 1.

The coaching staff for the EPP batting and spin camp in Colombo will be overseen by Andy Flower, with EPP Lead Coaches Graham Thorpe (Batting), Peter Such (Spin Bowling) and Bruce French (Wicketkeeping) joined on the tour by specialist fielding coach, Carl Hopkinson from Sussex CCC.

Lead Fast Bowling Coach Kevin Shine will head the EPP trip to South Africa while Graham Thorpe will be part of the group in Sri Lanka

From Friday, November 21 to Wednesday, December 10, EPP Lead Fast Bowling Coach Kevin Shine will be supported by former West Indies Head Coach and England Fast Bowling Coach Ottis Gibson in the delivery of the EPP fast bowlers camp in Potchefstroom, South Africa.

Selected players from both EPP groups will come together in Potchefstroom from Wednesday, December 10 to Saturday, December 20 to prepare for the England Lions tour to South Africa in January and February 2015.

Lions Head Coach, Mark Robinson will join this element of the training camp alongside Andy Flower. The EPP will play a two-day match against local opposition in Potchefstroom on December 17 and 18.
