Adams nets Sri Lanka role

Sri Lanka have appointed former Surrey team director Chris Adams to act as a consultant on their forthcoming tour of England.

Adams, who left Surrey last year, will therefore find himself up against his old Sussex colleague Peter Moores – now England Head Coach – when Sri Lanka arrive in this country next month.

The 43-year-old was Sussex captain when Moores helped them win the County Championship for the first time in 2003.

Sri Lanka Cricket announced Adams’ new role on its official Twitter account today.

The statement read: “The executive committee further approved the recommendation made by SLC’s chairman cricket committee, chairman selection committee and head of coaching to appoint former Sussex captain and former Surrey coach Chris Adams as a consultant for the upcoming tour of England.”
