The opening day of New Zealand’s tour match against Worcestershire was rained off without a ball being bowled.
The weather hung low over New Road until the umpires gave up hope of a start today just before 2pm.
That has effectively reduced the tourists’ final warm-up match before next week’s first Investec Test at Lord’s to a three-day affair, with a brighter forecast for tomorrow.
The New Zealanders won their tour-opener against Somerset by 66 runs at Taunton last week.
