Old boy Tahir set for Hampshire stint

South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir is set to return to Hampshire to play in their last two LV= County Championship games of the season, subject to visa clearance.

Tahir is set to be available to face Kent at the Ageas Bowl and Glamorgan at the SWALEC Stadium, two matches in which Hampshire could be chasing promotion.

The 35-year old, who has taken 40 Test wickets for South Africa, has made 77 appearances for Hampshire since his debut for the club in July 2008.

It was the 2011 season which saw the leg-spinner particularly impress for Hampshire, claiming 50 wickets in 29 matches at an average of 22.

Imran Tahir is set to bring his expereince of the international game to Hampshire's push for promotion in the LV= County Championship
